Hello,

I am enthusiastic about being a new member of ChefTalk.com., and look forward to sharing cooking experiences and other information with people who appreciate good cooking and good food.

I am a senior citizen with a long history of being a good home cook.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, and my other interests include volunteering with the homeless. The people with whom I volunteer are not usually allowed to cook in the shelter for safety reasons, but I would love to see those who show a talent for cooking have the opportunity to pursue a culinary career.

As you may infer from my user name, I have a garden. It is filled with 300 different daylily cultivars. By the way, daylilies are eatable,

My husband and I are retired, and I want to spend some of the extra time I have available to me learning more about fine cooking. Hence I am here, and I hope to get to know some of you with similar interests.

Welcome Lilygardener!  I'm impressed-300 different lillies in your garden?!  I can barely keep a few herbs alive so I am jealous.  You'll find a lot of great information here on just about every food topic imaginable, from every day foods to gourmet cuisine and everything inbetween.  And we have a lot of great community members, from beginning cooks to avid home cooks to chefs with decades of experience.  The one thing we all have in common is that we love food and we love to learn more about it  Don't hesitate to jump right in to the forums and ask questions, or offer up your own suggestions.

Thanks Pete,

Thank you for the welcome.  Daylilies are hard to kill which make them an ideal flower to grow for a person like me, with a love for flowers and limited ability ( its not like growing orchids). Hope to post some new picture of the flower and veggie gardens this summer.

Got a closer up view of the thumbnails of my pictures and have chosen a few more to post. I think you'll see one of the yard from above where my husband has a vegetable garden and one of my deck with tomatoes, basil, and other things in containers.
