Ingredients
1 lb pork or chicken or a combination of both
1 medium to large onion cut in small pieces
5-6 cloves of chopped garlic
3/4 c vinegar
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 bay leaves
2-3 cups water
cooking oil
salt and pepper
Process
1. Cut chicken or pork or both in medium pieces
2. Sautee chicken/pork/both in pan with oil on high heat. Brown all sides. Browning is the key to getting all the good flavors.
3. Turn the heat down, and add the onions and garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Cook until brown.
4. Add vinegar, sugar, water, bay leaves. Simmer at medium heat for 1 hr. After an hour, reduce the heat to medium low. Let cook for another 30-45 mins until meat is tender in low to medium heat. You may have to add sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper if necessary.
5. Serve with rice and other dishes. Enjoy
Thank you
