Welcome to ChefTalk!  NOLA is my favorite place in the world.  I try to go down there once a year to stuff my face and listen to music.  Hattori has good reputation in general.  I've never used one, so I can't comment.

If you tell us more about what you're shopping for, you'll get more recommendations.  There are a lot of knives in the same price range now; your shopping options are much broader than a few years ago.

Type of knife?  chef? petty? length?

Budget?

Left or right handed?

Handle? Western or wa

Must be stainless or carbon?
