I love to cook. I love to talk about cooking with others. I'm a home cook for just the two of us.

The retired librarian/college teacher in me likes to look up stuff, learn about it, and share what I learn. Since I'm basically a frugal and somewhat lazy cook with a bad back, you'll find me sharing easy ways to do things, like Alton Brown's oven approach to brown rice, ways to make bread that avoid kneading, ways to shape pasta sitting down, how to stretch meat with legumes, etc.

Hubby and I are avid students of nutrition but also struggle to keep our circumferences less than our height. So you may see me steer toward recommendations from Harvard's NutritionSource https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/ but that doesn't mean we can't demolish a batch of fudge in short order.
