My wife and went to N.Y yesturday to see contact at lincoln center ( incredible show)
Then we meet up with my sis in law and went to a lovely little iltalian place on columbus and Upper 60's called pomodoro. It was just the right place for us Priced right, very good service and the food was very good. I had a old style dish of braised lamb shank, braised chicken leg and braised beef in borola wine sauce with fresh autumn porcinis and sauteed spinach with a hint of Balsamic vinager. It was quite good, My wife had Rigatoni with clams ,shrimp and calamari-Broccali, artichokes and a shell fish broth and sis in law had pan seared filet with portibella mushrooms, Fresh buffalo mozzarella and port wine sauce, this was also served with spinach, but a lightly fried rissoto cake was the starch it was flavored with dry riccotta very nice dish, we drank a couple bottles of 97 villa Antanori Chianti Classico Reserva ($37)Also the table had a endless supply of olives, rosemary foccacchio lightly salted and garlic infused olive oil for dipping. We all shared a salad of mixed greens with cortland apples, mushrooms and gorgonzola , simple but good. the whole bill with 2 bottles of wine and our app and entrees no dessert was $156.00 Not bad for what we got and the Quility and quinity. It was one of those comfy, happy meals If your looking for a place that won't brake the bank and offers value , give Pomodoro a try
