Currently living in San francisco going on my second year I would say for my budget there is something for everyone in san francisco; I would recommend Nopa for a very California dinner ( make a reservation), swan oyster depot for fresh oysters( get there very early), Absinthe for the biggest wine selection in the city (36 page wine list), Les ros for upscale Thai food, and Delfina which is a cali/italian place that is a staple in the city. There are a lot more however, the restaurants listed here are all San Francisco staple restaurants that have stood the test of time meaning all these restaurants are all older than a decade and are still getting better everyday and really proving to the people why they are always busy.

Looks like I might be an expert by the time I leave. We do have burrito here but I am hoping I will find a more authentic one in San Fran thanks for your help I really appreciate it. I will try a more upmarket meal while I am there, but I try and avoid the restaurants aimed at tourist. Thanks again,  Geoff
