I have begun to replace my kitchen whisks and tongs with silicone coated ones to protect my cooking pans and devices with none stick coatings. How do you feel about silicone coated tools and pans?

Fwiw the wire whips being used in my kitchen since the 70s haven't seemed to affect my steel pans at all.  Fwiw.
