Yeah, I'll grab Alan to outdo our trip to Tru, Nicko, but I'm afraid duct tape would have to be involved.
I think Tony Mantuano's cousin runs Mangia in Kenosha. It's VERY good and a fraction of the price. Of course it's not in the same league as Spiaggia, but it's worth the trip. I haven't eaten there in a long time, but it's still getting very good reviews and doing a good business.
Hop on Metra and you're there; it's close enough to the station that you don't need a car. We're there in 50 minutes by car. Any takers??

Here's the link to a recent review in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: Mangia Mangia is located in Kenosha about 30 miles south of Milwaukee, a few blocks from Lake Michigan.
As for dates: We're good for Saturdays in March and April. How does April 17 look? I'll be happy to call, but I'll need a number who'll join us. If that date doesn't work, let's keep looking. Come on everyone! Who's interested in a get together?!
BTW, there's a GREAT Italian grocery, deli and liquor store in the middle of town called Tenuta's. If time and logistics permit, it's worth a stop. It's at the corner of 52nd St. and 34th Avenue.
As for the ownership of the place, it looks like Tony Mantuano owns it now. Another Manutano opened it as I recall. The change seems to have been a beneficial one. The place has been open for at least 15 years, located in a former service station on Sheridan Road. The decor is warm and comfortable.

Good friend, we will pick a better date. Pete says he can't come on Saturday evenings, so maybe we can pick something like a Sunday evening or such. If we gather the week after Easter, I could attend a weeknight because it's a school vacation.
