Great link.
Yes it has been horribly hot but no more than usual.

Could be the local eggs producer has been selling off more chicks than usual to help replenish the farms needing a new laying stock.
Maybe keeping their "girls" around a bit longer?

IDK.... I use a lot of whites and getting weary of all the waste.
The cartons are plentiful but not my first choice.

Kinda glad this is all for home use and don't need to figure the loss into my bottom line.

From the info provided by the article I get the idea the producer is aware of this problem.

Maybe QC is "scattering" the low scale number eggs thruout the cartons?

After the third or fourth "flat" I began keeping a record of sorts and plan to approach the producer (by email even tho it is less than an hour away egg farms are kinda stinky :-( if it continues.
