1 stick (East of the Mississippi) = 1 cube (West of the Mississippi) = 4 ounces = 1/2 cup

So in metric 1 stick is about 125 grammes?

Thanks Pete, Just not very familiar with oz, ounces, sticks and cups......

I grew up fully metric :)

Non whipped  1/2 cup or 4 fluid ounces. But be careful some manufacturers are cutting down weights on margarine, cream cheese and butter. Read the labels (like a half gallon continer of ice cream now  is 1 1/2  to 1 3/4 quarts yet in same size container.) Its called The Screw the Consumer rule!!!!!   Manufacturer  who does this most is KRAFT and then on top of that they add more water to their products in particular Cream Cheese. If you notice some of the cream cheeses in the dairy cases now say cream cream cheese spread.
