I find they have become well less challenging. If the OG's think back they were slamming by todays standard. However many of the them are no longer here.

I agree, but it's depressing: we try to make them less challenging in order to make them more accessible and inviting, but we still get no entries except from the few old-guard types. Sigh. I wonder if this will be the last monthly challenge? Sad, but there we are.

I have never posted anything that I've made, but I just want you to know that I have been following the monthly challenges for what feels like forever. I very much miss the threads of older days, but none the less I follow along each and every month as I have for ever, and watch the wonderful creative creations you all concoct. Thank you all for all your posts, and I really do hope this tradition continues.

Hey @mike9 -- you could kick everyone's butt by making your own cheese in this one. Just sayin'.
LOL - yeah that was a fun one. I doubt I'll be entering any more - the fear of winning then issuing a challenge nobody enters is disappointing.

Well we have been doing this for over 12 years. To see a list of most of challenges: Challenge List

I for one would hate to see it fizzle out altogether. But the number of participants has dwindled recently. Some people complain that they don't enter because it is just the same old people always winning. Well, duh! Maybe that us because it is the same old people who always post entries! If you don't enter, you can't win.

Morning Glory, who used to hang out here often, set up a similar forum, Cooking Bites It is based in the UK, where she lives, but there are folks from around the world who subscribe. And that forum has challenges which are a lot more popular, with many more entries than the ones here of late. Why is that? Maybe I should go back for a year or two and count the number of dishes presented and the number of entrants. Might be interesting.
